About Lou
A Commitment to Excellence
Lou Bartolo for Maryland State Senator District 16 is committed to his community as he resides in Chevy Chase. Among his many commitments, Lou is very active with several organizations throughout Maryland. Currently, there is not a single nurse in the Maryland General Assembly, and having my perspective as a nurse is essential to moving forward with the workforce shortages and public health crisis facing our beloved state of Maryland. Lou has always been a mover and a shaker; from a young age, he was always at the forefront of any decisions that needed to be made. Now he is ready to make those decisions so Maryland can be a better place for all.

The Issues At Hand
Everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed. Our success is built on the founding principles of unlimited opportunity, quality education, commitment to hard work, and the freedom to pursue our dreams. Lou will fight each and every day to ensure that the community is advancing toward meeting these founding principles.
The Environment
Lou is proud to support and push for change throughout the state for a healthier and cleaner environment across Maryland. This is a very serious issue that has been impacting Americans. It is up to Lou to address this issue head-on and rally the support needed to make the proper changes. In addition to the environment, we must keep Maryland's diverse agriculture at the forefront and continue to support the industry.

Education
This particular issue has been increasingly gaining coverage across America. Why exactly? It is an issue that needs to be addressed, and heavily discussed among politicians, lobbyists, and congressmen alike. Lou is pushing for change and will do everything he can for the children of Maryland to see a brighter future.

Healthcare and Public Health
Lou is truly passionate heart and soul about this healthcare, as it is one that impacts so many adults and children in Maryland. Lou aims to maintain balance within the political system and will keep pushing until the correct balance is reached on reproductive rights, mental health, and substance use disorders, having a nurse in all schools, and geriatric care management for aging in place. As a state, focusing more on minority health as a whole is needed; however, we must continue to develop models of care to reduce maternal and child health disparities.

Gun violence is out of control and we must start saving lives through better gun control in the state. Lou will form coalitions to help decrease health
disparities and inequities. As a state, we must focus on solutions to provide a quality of life for Marylanders to remain to live, work, and play.
